Deceased Account Servicing (Death Notifications)
Guidelines
It is the intention of Transit Employees Federal Credit Union (TEFCU) to provide specific guidelines for the family, representatives, joint owner, and/or beneficiaries of deceased members to follow when providing TEFCU with a death notification. The purpose of this guideline is to ensure taking appropriate action as it relates to providing death notifications to TEFCU.
Required Documents
- A certified copy of the Deceased Person’s Death Certificate. (Mandatory)
- A certified copy of the legal document that proves your authority as the deceased’s Administrator, Executor or Surviving Spouse, if applicable.

Gather and provide the following information:
- Deceased’s member’s name
- Account number (if known)
- Name, address, and contact information of your contact information
- Relationship with the deceased member
- Date of death
- Date the notice was given
